Bereavement and Loss

Bereavement and loss – support and treatment in Cardiff , Bridgend , Newport, South Wales and Central London.

Losing someone or something you love or care deeply about can be both upsetting and very painful.

When experiencing loss you will possibly need to cope with a range of difficult emotions and it may feel like the pain and sadness you’re experiencing will never let up.  Rest assured these emotions are normal reactions to a significant loss. There is no right or wrong way to grieve however there are healthy ways to cope with the pain that you may be experiencing and over time you will eventually be able to move on and start life again anew.

The feeling of grief is a natural response to bereavement and loss. The more significant the loss, the more intense the grief will be. You may associate grief with the death of a loved one—which is often the cause of the most intense type of grief — but any loss can cause grief. Typical causes of grief include:

  • Divorce or relationship breakup
  • Loss of  good health
  • Job loss
  • Miscarriage
  • Retirement
  • Loss or death of a pet
  • Loss of a friendship
